The company’s commitment covers the entire life cycle of the project, from the preliminary study, which defines the feasibility and the best strategies, to the final commissioning of the plant. Each phase is followed with meticulous competence and constant attention to detail, guaranteeing concrete and lasting results over time. Whether it’s automation for complex production lines, control systems for specific machinery or articulated industrial plants, Nexus Automation’s primary goal is to provide intelligent, cutting-edge solutions that propel the industry towards a more efficient and productive future.
The company is committed to transforming its customers’ visions into operational realities, with an eye always on innovation and sustainability.
Types of Heating Plants Automation
Nexus Automation is able to design and manufacture a wide range of industrial automation systems, each specially customized to meet different production and sector needs.
Among the main types of automation systems, Nexus Automation specializes in the creation of fully automated production lines: these are systems that integrate robotics, conveyors, vision and control systems to manage the entire production flow, from the handling of raw materials to the packaging of the finished product. The goal is to maximize throughput, reduce cycle times, and minimize human error, ensuring consistent and superior product quality.
Another specialist area is the design of process control systems, which are essential for sectors such as chemical, pharmaceutical or food, where critical variables such as temperature, pressure, pH, flow rate and composition must be monitored and regulated with extreme precision. Using PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCS (Distributed Control System) and SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) systems, Nexus Automation creates “control brains” that optimize reactions, ensure operational safety and allow complete traceability of each step of the process.
The company also designs automated assembly plants, which are ideal for the mass production of complex components. These robotic and integrated automation systems are able to perform assembly operations with unmatched speed and precision, reducing labor costs and improving the reliability of the final product.
Solutions also include automated handling and internal logistics systems, such as the deployment of autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs), mobile robots, smart conveyors, and automated warehouses. The goal is to optimize the flow of materials within the plant, reduce downtime, handling errors and logistics costs, and improve the efficiency of the internal supply chain.
Finally, Nexus Automation deals with the design of automated inspection and quality control systems: by integrating high-resolution cameras, 3D sensors and artificial intelligence algorithms, these systems are able to perform dimensional, visual and functional checks on products at high speeds, identifying defects and rejects before the product leaves the line. This ensures compliance with quality standards and reduces costs associated with defective products or recalls.

Design Phases
The process of designing an automation system at Nexus Automation is a structured and collaborative process, aimed at ensuring that the final solution is perfectly aligned with the customer’s expectations and objectives. In detail, this process is divided into several key phases, each of which is managed with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail.
The first phase is the customer’s request, the starting point in which the needs, objectives and problems that automation must solve are expressed. This is followed by a detailed inspection of the customer’s production environment, which is essential to fully understand the operating context, spatial constraints, existing infrastructures and workflows.
Subsequently, a technical and economic feasibility study is carried out, which allows the different technological options to be assessed, the expected costs and benefits to be analysed and the feasibility of the project to be defined. This study is accompanied by a thorough process analysis, which breaks down existing operations to identify pain points and opportunities for automation. On the basis of this analysis, the most suitable field instruments are chosen , selecting the sensors, actuators, robots and electrical and mechanical components that will form the heart of the plant.
After the definition of the technical specifications, a preliminary feasibility economic estimate is prepared, followed by the drafting of a detailed estimate, which includes a complete description of the proposed solution, the specific costs, the implementation times and all the contractual clauses. The negotiation phase then begins to define and formalize the agreement between Nexus Automation and the customer.
Once the agreement has been signed, the actual design (R&D) phase begins, which includes the mechanical design of the structures, the electrical design of the schematics and panels and the development of the control logics. This is followed by the assembly of the system, which can take place at the Nexus Automation workshops or on site, depending on the complexity and, at the same time, we proceed with the Software development for PC/PLC/HMI, the phase dedicated to the programming of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), the creation of human-machine interfaces (HMIs) for intuitive control and the development of software on PCs for supervision (SCADA) and data collection.
Before final delivery, each part designed and manufactured undergoes rigorous blank testing (FAT) at Nexus Automation’s headquarters, which simulates operating conditions to verify the correct functioning of each component and subsystem. Once the FAT has been passed, we proceed with field tests (SAT – Site Acceptance Test), carried out directly at the customer’s plant, which verify the integration of the plant into the production environment and its performance in real conditions.
At the end of all the tests, the plant is delivered turnkey to the customer, ready to start production, with the full support of Nexus Automation for staff training.
